Hi everyone, thank you so much for your interest in the discovery of this new continent here on Maigis. Since this is a major event, I thought it would be a good idea to make the expedition's findings available to a broader public than just the residents of Maigis. The University is really trying its best, but with the knowledge of a whole 'new' continent (which could very easily have been discovered centuries earlier if they had the same level of curiosity as Terrans), I don't think they're going to be casting their eye to the heavens very soon. So I decided to do it myself! After all, that's the only way things get done correctly, isn't it? And knowing the University, there's enough that could go wrong.
Anyway, all of this is translated as accurately as possible, though there are undoubtedly gonna be some iffy parts here and there. My grasp on the language is fairly decent now, having been here for a good 4 years, but there's still things I'm going to be stumbling over here and there. I'll try to get someone else to weigh in on the matter if I get truly stuck, but otherwise every mistake is all on me. And, of course, I lack some of the cultural background from other areas, so there's gonna be some inaccuracies there. For the personal effects that the University is publishing, I'll try my best to preserve the voice of the authors. Kadu Drest is going to be the hardest to translate accurately, he's from all the way down south, where there's a whole different cultural idea around marriage and family than either up here or on Terra. It'll be difficult to capture his essence while keeping the cultural effects that make it so unique. Don't worry if documents change from time to time, that's just me fiddling.
On the academic front, don't worry. I know what I'm doing. It's more that I want this information to just be out there for everyone else, since I'm of the eternal opinion that more information will be able to grant us more insight. Even if the ways to get that information may be questionable at best and unreliable at most.
